Terms of service

These terms govern your use of dupes, operated by Dupes Analytics. By creating an account you agree to them.
1. The service
dupes is a hosted web analytics service. You install a tracking script on websites you control, and we record and report on the traffic it sends us.
2. Your account
You need a working email address to sign in; we send a one-time code rather than using a password. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to that mailbox secure.
You may only add websites you own or are authorised to operate.
3. Free trial
New accounts get a 7-day trial with no credit card required. It starts when you first sign in and ends 7 days later.
When the trial ends your dashboard locks until you subscribe. We keep collecting your data for a further 7 days, so if you subscribe within that window nothing is missing. After that, collection stops; data already recorded is retained but new visits are not.
If you subscribe during the trial, any full days remaining are carried over and your first payment is taken at the end of them. If fewer than 48 hours remain, billing starts immediately — a limit imposed by our payment processor, not a choice.
4. Plans and payment
Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe. Prices are shown on the plan page before you commit and are charged in US dollars.
Each plan includes a monthly event allowance and a website limit — Pro covers 1 website, Max covers 20. Exceeding your event allowance never stops us collecting data; it locks the dashboard until you add capacity or the monthly counter resets. Everything recorded above the allowance is kept and appears the moment you upgrade.
Bot and crawler traffic is excluded from your billable event count.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not pro-rate refunds for partial periods.
If a payment fails, we keep your account fully open while Stripe retries — roughly three weeks. If it is never resolved, your dashboard locks but we continue collecting for 60 days, and nothing is deleted in that window.
6. Deleting your data
Deleting a website erases every event recorded for it. Deleting your account erases the account, all its websites and all their data. Both are immediate and irreversible — there is no archive and no undo.
7. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Install the tracker on a website you do not own or operate.
- Send fabricated or artificially inflated events, whether to your own site or anyone else's.
- Use dupes to collect data you have no lawful basis to collect, or to attach directly identifying personal data to events without consent.
- Attempt to access another account's data, or to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service.
- Resell access to dupes without a written agreement with us.
We may suspend an account that breaches this section. Where the breach is not deliberate we will contact you first.
8. Availability
We work to keep dupes available and accurate, but it is provided “as is” without warranty. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and analytics data is inherently approximate — ad blockers, privacy modes and network failures all mean some visits are never reported to us.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to dupes is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost data.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to account holders before taking effect, and the date at the top will change. If you do not accept a change, you may cancel.
